DATA ANALYSIS IN HUMAN GENOME BASED ON COMPLEXITY THEORY AND MACHINE LEARNING APPROACHES. WE PROVIDE A COMPLETE FLOW CHART ANALYSIS AND THE GOAL IS TO PRODUCE AN AUTOMATED BIG DATA ANALYSIS SOFTWARE BASED ON THE PROPOSE FLOWCHART.
Leonidas Karakatsanis obtained a diploma in Electrical Engineering from DUTH in 1991 and was declared a doctor of DUTH in 2013. From 1992 to 2018 he worked as an administrative staff of DUTH in the positions: a) Head of operation of the Mediation Office of IFT in matters of innovation and exploitation of research results and intellectual property products b) Head of the Secretariat of the Department of Environmental Engineering. He has participated in 15 R&D projects. In 2018, he was transferred to a scientific position at the Department of Environmental Engineering of Democritus University of Thrace. His research field focuses on: a) Non-linear time series analysis with methods from complexity theory in physical and anthropogenic systems, b) Non-extensive Tsallis statistics, c) Applications of turbulence theory, d) Machine Learning applications in complex systems. Since 2013 he has been collaborating with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia of PENN University in the USA in the analysis of data from the human genome. Since 2018, he is in charge of the informal research group Complexity Research Team (CRT) (https://complex.env.duth.gr) with the aim of analyzing data from complex physical and biological systems, which is based in the Department of Environmental Engineering of the DUTH and has developed domestic and international collaborations. He has published 23 articles in international scientific journals and 7 articles in conference proceedings and book volumes (Citation index: 460, h-index: 13) and participates in 2 National Patents and 2 international PCT applications at WIPO (PCT/GR2013/000032, PCT/GR2017/000066).
